ICPA’s nine programmes are the path by which international protocol is mastered as a complete discipline. Yet we have often been asked for something else: to acquire, with certainty, only the part that is needed now.
Programmes by Profession answer that request. They address the particular moments in which bearing is called upon within a given field, drawing only the relevant chapters from ICPA’s curriculum. Instruction is given individually — never in a group.

Business Leaders
Executives & Board MembersDinners with foreign dignitaries, international receptions, the ceremonies of a listed company. Where one stands for an organisation, one’s bearing is read as the standing of that organisation. There are rooms in which you are judged by a measure quite apart from your decisions or your record.
Founders & Technology
Founders & Technology LeadersMeetings with overseas investors, the months before a listing, gatherings that reach beyond one’s own industry. Those who have been measured by technical accomplishment and speed of growth encounter a different wall at the next stage. The younger one rises, the more plainly that difference shows.
Medical Professionals
Physicians & Clinical LeadershipIn medicine, a protocol is a course of treatment. But before a patient and their family, upon the platform of an international congress, in the company of colleagues from abroad, another protocol is called for. Members of royal and imperial households, diplomatic corps, visitors of distinction from abroad. To read a guest’s background correctly, and to receive them without offence. The spirit of omotenashi, conveyed within the forms of international standard.
Educators
Schools & International EducationThe International Baccalaureate, exchanges with partner schools abroad, the reception of international students. The conduct of those who teach becomes, in itself, the material of the next generation. The first refinement a pupil learns is the bearing of the one who teaches.

For that reason, no fixed curriculum is published in advance.

Composition of the curriculum
From what we have learnt, the Founding Principal selects the necessary chapters from ICPA’s body of instruction and composes them anew. The number of sessions and the period are likewise set to your circumstances.
Individual instruction
Instruction is given to one person at a time, never in a group. Practical exercises are drawn from the situations of your own field.
Record of attendance
Upon completion, a record of attendance is presented. This programme is distinct from ICPA’s qualification programmes; no certification is conferred.
Those who seek qualification are invited to consider the nine programmes. It is not uncommon for study to begin here and to continue afterwards into the qualification programmes. That path remains open at all times.
