It has been a pleasure to work alongside Hakuba-sensei these past two years. Her command of Japanese manners and protocol is exceptional, and she has delivered remote instruction for a number of our clients in the United Kingdom. The feedback has been consistently excellent, and I am grateful for her integrity and dedication.
Meeting dignitaries such as the Prime Minister of Malaysia and members of the Thai Royal Family, I realised this was precisely what I ought to have studied. Hakuba-sensei’s instruction proved more demanding than I had anticipated, yet always warm, and I gained a great deal from it. I intend to continue.
Each week brought new insight into Japanese culture, etiquette and ways of thinking. What impressed me most was that every topic extended far beyond rules and formalities. We explored the cultural principles that underpin daily interactions, which allowed me to understand not only what is done in Japan, but why.

I had studied protocol before from another instructor, so I had an image of that, but it’s totally different! Hakuba-sensei is outstanding. She has taught me a grade above in business, diplomacy and behaviour, and I will continue to improve.

I thought that this education is necessary not only for people working in companies, but also for children in this global society. I felt that we are getting better and better ourselves by acquiring knowledge and education.
I thought that international education is also necessary for leadership in a doctor’s work. I was surprised at how much I didn’t know. It is the best self-improvement.
All the things I thought I knew but didn’t. Of course if you are involved internationally, but even if you are not, I think you will need it in the future. I recommend it.

I was able to spend very intensive study time and the month from the start to the end of the course was very fulfilling. I would like to continue learning at the intermediate and advanced levels and become a communicator of this learning.
The intermediate level is much more powerful than the beginner level and has given me more and deeper learning and confidence. It really confirms that learning about culture and conduct is an important thing in life.
This was no run-of-the-mill school. Hakuba-sensei is a wonderful person who you can really trust, both as an instructor and as a woman, because she is on the axis and never wavers.
