ICPA: Enhancing Cinematic Realism through Professional Protocol Expertise
The International Protocol and Etiquette Academy of Japan (ICPA) is pleased to announce that we have been appointed to provide British gentleman’s etiquette and international protocol training for actor Keita Machida in the production of the Netflix Original Film “10DANCE”.
Pursuing Authentic Realism through Expert British Etiquette Training
This training was conducted both as private coaching for the lead actor and as production support to enhance the overall realism of the film’s world.
1. Private Coaching for Mr. Keita Machida
For the character portrayed by Mr. Keita Machida, the objective was to fully master authentic British gentleman’s table manners and refined deportment (physical conduct).
The training was led by Mirei Cecilia Shiraha, the Founder and Principal of ICPA. Her instruction focused not merely on superficial etiquette, but on protocol as a “philosophy of respect.” As part of this curriculum, she imparted the core principles of British gentlemanly conduct.
2. Training Cooperation for Production Staff and Extras
As part of the production support, ICPA provided group training and supervision for the production staff on the following specific elements:
- Detailed Deportment for Extras: Including sitting, walking, and gesturing in formal settings.
- Protocol Supervision for Table Settings: Precise placement of cutlery and glassware.
- Wine Service and Handling: Proper etiquette and graceful movement regarding wine bottles.
Contributing to the Quality of Cinematic Productions
Through ICPA’s guidance, Mr. Keita Machida was able to express the subtle emotions of his character through the lens of protocol, ensuring the entire scene met international standards.
